Staying in a suite hotel in the city lets you catch the glimpse of what the glamorous good life is supposed to look like. Very few people are lucky enough to live that kind of life on a daily basis but staying in a suite hotel in the city for a day or two or longer will let you live that fantasy, if only for a little bit.
I have stayed in many hotels in this and many other cities and I always do what I can to take full advantage of the situation regardless of how long I will be staying there. This involves jumping face-first into the very comfy king or queen size bed and staying there for a couple of seconds. And since I took the trouble of traveling there myself I would take some time in the nice large bathtub; I would leave the shower for later on that night. From there the hotel is at your full disposal including the amenities found within. Want a medium rare steak brought to your hotel room? Call for room service. Expecting a package to be delivered to you while checked in? have one of the helpful attendants assist you with that? Need recommendations on good restaurants or events in the city? Go to the concierge for details or even to make a reservation in your name. There is lot of things a suite hotel in the city can do for you that you might not have realized at first.
There is something about being in a hotel in the city that really frees you up both mentally and emotionally. I think it is because you are staying overnight in an entirely new place that is not entirely your own. That said though, nothing is stopping you from living it up. Even if you did book the room in a suite hotel for business reasons it still feels much different than your usual routine of waking up, going to work, finishing your day, and then going back home and then rinse and repeat. Being away from the office and your home allows you to loosen your collar, so to speak. You are on your own in a whole new place and you can enjoy the little luxuries that the hotel has to offer.
Staying overnight in a suite hotel is an experience in its own right so you might as well enjoy as much of it as you can.
