You can only hope the person in charge for this is not too tired — sorting loads of online applications can be very tiring – to truly consider yours.
Don’t underestimate the power of networking. The people you can connect with will give you better odds in finding that travel job you wanted. Plus, if you can go straight to the companies’ offices, please do. Actual presence of applicants speaks of determination and sincerity.
4. Not Updating and Customizing Your Resume
This is easily one of the worst mistakes a travel job hunter must avoid.
In every job position, there are certain characteristic and particular skills required. Hiring managers look for these in your submitted resume. So, if you fail to update and highlight relevant skills in your resume you will lose points from the employer’s point of view.
Always customize your resume based on the job position. Think of a resume as marketing tool. If you incongruously promote yourself for a specific job position, it will make no sense!
Temporary jobs and freelance work are good ways to earn a fast buck when in foreign countries. Sure it may take a little of your vacation time but with the proper mindset and attitude, you can make any task a fun experience.
