Why spend a fortune at a Couples or Sandals resort in Jamaica when you can escape to the cliffs at Negril, and stay in this wonderful hotel
An affordable hotel perched on a cliff close to Negril, turns out to be a real bargain hotel, yet manages somehow to be a boutique hotel at the same time, and what a delight to find a cheap hotel in Jamaica that has quality written all over it.
The name, which is a huge part of the attraction is Catcha Falling Star, and how it will help you ‘Keep it in your pocket, and save it for a rainy day!’
It is rare to find an affordable hotel with the quality of Catcha Falling Star, and you will begin to get a glimpse of what makes it so special when you are collected by the hotel’s vehicle, because that really isn’t what you expect from a hotel with an average year round price of USD210.
The one bedroom suites in the new building are really very good indeed, with the upstairs suites possibly having the advantage of a better view because of the height, and a little more privacy. What you get for your money is a large bedroom, air conditioning and ceiling fan, although with the breeze you may not need the a/c. A large bathroom with double vanity unit and a tiled shower, and potted plants would not be out of place in a five star establishment.
The large living area has a flat screen television, stereo, and ceiling fan, whilst the small kitchen area has a lerge refrigerator which is very useful as there is a grocery store across the road, and then enough kitchen equipment to do some catering although there is absolutely no need for that at all, but the fridge has more than enough room for beer and other real essentials.
The top feature of the accommodation is the huge veranda, easily big enough to sit on, eat breakfast on, and just enjoy the view of the gorgeous turquoise blue Caribbean. You are likely to eat breakfast here on several mornings because Catcha Falling Star does that as a lovely bonus, make you feel good option.
The on site restaurant and bar is called Ivan’s Bar, named after a hurricane, and here you can have breakfast lunch and dinner as well as some amazing drinks and cocktails. Breakfast is included, and it is a real feast including eggs, pancakes, fresh fruit and juices, plus their famous banana bread. Lunch is an extensive menu of simple snacks, and dinner is impressive, at very fair prices, leaving you really perfectly happy to stay around and not feel you need to venture out to eat. If you do, then Rockhouse and LTU are worth a visit.
The family house atmosphere at Catcha Falling Star is difficult to explain on paper, but everything works together, everyone of the staff are friendly, efficient, and the rooms are absolutely spotless. Even the wait time at Ivan’s for food was minimal compared to normal Caribbean time.
You will just feel so good at this gem of a bargain hotel. This is an affordable holiday with five star service and accommodation. Who needs the new pool, when you can leap into the warm Caribbean, just like a hot bath. It’ll be lovely when it’s built, and it may sadly draw more guests in, but hopefull it won’t ever spoil Catcha Falling Star, because this is the real Jamaica. This might be a cheap hotel in Jamaica but it is also nearly the best hotel in Jamaica.
