Technology has grown so much in the past 50 years and some of the things that we see going on today and that we just accept as the norm is something that would never be predicted all those years ago.
Some of the technology that we use all day such as our mobile phones would have seemed pretty much unbelievable 50 years ago but to us this is just what we know and really we wouldn’t be able to imagine our lives without them.
What technology has done is create needs for things that we never knew that we needed in the past. Back in the day if you arranged to meet someone that was that and you would have had to be there at that time where you said otherwise they would have been stuck waiting for you or may have had to of given up and have gone home. Now if this was ever the case you would easily just be able to text them or give them a call and let them know the new plan without having to let anyone down. It really has changed the way in which we communicate.
Technology has also affected where people are now living these days. It seems that in the past you would live near your family and all of your friends would be the people that are surrounding you. Now you are able to move all over the UK and even the world and know that you are able to still speak with your loved ones through such things as the internet using social networking sites and even video calling allowing you to really interact with each other.
It now doesn’t matter if you don’t live next door to a family member of one of your best friends as the technology available allows you to keep in touch without having to go to any trouble.
The ways in which lessons are taught in school are so much different to how they were taught back in the day. Now students don’t have to just sit there with a teacher writing on a boring chalk board and now they are more easily able to take part in lessons.
Interactive whiteboards have defiantly had an impact on the way students are taught in school and also just being able to have access to a computer in school can really change the way they learn and encourage them to do well.
