How Laser Technology Changed Our Lives

In 1960 the first laser is invented which has changed the way people understand the technology. The world was shook with the invention of laser technology by Theodore Miamam, which later has taken many shapes and has become the most powerful technology. Many improvements and inventions that are made in it has led to many applications which are now being used in multiple industries like the medicine, research, military, cosmetic and other sectors. They are now the integral part of our life as they are being applied in all the electronic devices and sensors that we use at home. In addition to the number of possibilities and benefits that are made available from this technology there are still efforts being made by companies and sophisticated laboratories to create something new and effective for people to use it. One thing that would fierce is the use of the technology in making laser weapons which would lead to war.

What’s New in a 2013 Laser World?

The latest LG Electronics product, 100-inc laser TV which should rather be considered as the projector that would enable users stream the internet services. This new product would give the feel of sitting in the own theatre at home and stands as the best example to show that no single year is left without introducing a new product into the market.
Imran Mahboob, another inventor courtesy has created a laser using sound waves than using light. Though this might take several years to shape out still it should be considered a new milestone for new innovations to start.

Another new invention is the LaserOrigami which operates faster than the traditional 3D fabrication used for 3D prototype fabrication.

A more attractive invention is the robot, Gasbot which is used for detecting areas leaking with harmful methane. The laser system used in this robot is simple with gas sensor, pair of lasers and the GPS, the combination of all of which would enable to robot to collect the data and then build maps to find the areas where methane is leaking. This information is then passed on to workers to deal the problems further. This robot after being successful in underground corridor test seems to have a good future with pretty promising results.
The next best application is related to fun. It is the laser forest in which the trees would be whispering while the soft music is being played in the human made wonderful forest. It would be a really amazing experience, and one would admire the creation that is made possible by installing the rods in the floor which act as the trees of the forest. Seeing this forest one would realize that drugs would be ruled out by the hallucination created by the laser.
The other area is the use of laser technology in military airplanes which would just shoot out rockets on their own similar to what happens in the science fiction movie that we might have seen. However, this sort of application, the solid self defense lasers duly installed in the combat airplanes, is ready to be tested in 2014 by USAF with real firing tests.

The most natural solution that is rendered out of laser technology is controlling the weather which has been until now an impossible thing. Scientists have made several attempts for formatting clouds to provoke rains which will help the farmers to cultivate land in the right time. In the similar way to let the people organize events in a more flexible way, the technology would try to control the weather by applying various ways to seed the clouds thereby preventing rain or floods and smog. There are ways to form the ice and condense the water. A simple example of how this can be made possible is to use the light pulses which would lead to cloud formation. With all the experiments done so far, professors Dr Kasparian and Wolf are with a strong belief that lasers would offer the best method to control the weather.

The next sophisticated application of laser technology is in getting 3-D information about a particular object or a scene in front of you by passing the low power laser beam. The result of this experiment is truly stunning. Finally camera, which use the laser as well as other superconducting nanowires are capable of taking 3-D photos of all the objects and scenes that are at a distance of 1 kilometer. The logic is simply that, out of many photons that go out of laser pulse to the object even if one photon returns back then it would become easy to calculate the distance in a more effective way. This makes the job of measuring distance easy by using laser light and the same logic can be applied for measuring the dimensions of the oceans and lakes, scanning the forest vegetation and in military operations thus letting us know that this logic can be applied anywhere on Earth or underwater.

The other useful application of laser in the medical field is the treatment for the sun damaged skin which would be seen in the market soon if the FDA approves it. The good news is that doctors would also prefer to prescribe this laser application because of its guaranteed functionality.

Seeing all this it is true that the laser technology world has endless solutions some of which are still undiscovered. It would be very much interesting to know about new innovations and applications coming out the laser technology. The researchers would be even more mad about getting new things about laser into light as it is integral part of their life.
