Electronics Engineering Technology an Integral Part of Our Lives

Society and Technology have always co-existed and are dependent on one another along with walking hand in hand. The presence of technology has been seen and felt in human life since the beginning of human civilization. The tools made of stone by early man to hunt animals are the greatest evidences of the usage of science and technology in human lives. Growing gradually along with man, the invention of simple tools led to today’s modern technology which is an integral part of human life. Modern technology has become one of the most important parts of our economy. Students pursuing technical or engineering education are being trained to be the future workforce of our nation in the field of science and technology which is a source of revenue.

Moving past those days of huge radios which occupied large spaces in our living rooms, we have reached a stage where we have radios that can be slipped into your pockets and taken where ever you go. As human dependency on technology for daily chores increased, innovations in the field of technology began with a full boom. Today technology has set its foot literally in each and every area of our lives. With all those home appliances and audio/video products and other electronic devices, electronics engineering technology has become one of the most important parts of our lives. It has become difficult to live without these gifts and contributions of technology to mankind.

Technical education became the official subject of study in the aftermath of the industrial revolution, with engineering colleges gearing up to nurture the best engineers. Engineering education has reached the pinnacle of popularity during the past few decades. Along with nurturing engineers who are knowledgeable, they aim at producing the most dynamic professionals. Some of the courses offered by engineering colleges are Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunications, Information Technology and Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Instrumentation Technology and others. These courses offered by any institute must be approved by the AICTE, New Delhi and are usually affiliated to a university.

Engineering degrees offered are of four years duration. Upon completion of this degree opportunities arise for pursuing postgraduate education or to take a step in the direction of building a career. Establishment of well equipped departments with facilities like libraries and laboratories are the basic necessities of engineering education. Qualified faculties of these departments play an important role in building the contemporary knowledge base of students. Curriculum are designed based on the needs or demands of the industry as these colleges are the platform for students to gain knowledge and skills that help them in establishing a career.

The curriculum designed by the department of Electronics & Telecommunications is supported by the well-equipped Analog Electronics Lab, Digital Logic Lab, Communication Engineering Lab, Network and Power Lab and Computer Simulation Lab. Under the guidance of the qualified and eminent faculty, students undergo training to gain knowledge and skills along with good attitude and ethics. In preparation to work in the global industry they are trained to have an all round development and improve their professional abilities.

Revolution in technical education has caused the rise in engineering colleges. Interested in this I am writing about the course of Electronics engineering technology in ISB&M School of Technology.
