Classroom Technology

Communications is the key to success and without a clear communication channel any transaction – personal, public or professional is impossible. Nowadays technology is the buzz word for all communication needs- mobiles, laptops and internet have become a necessity of every individual. Keeping this urgent need in mind, schools all over the world are introducing technology inside classrooms as a priority agenda.

Classroom technology may seem a very simple term but the components are varied and ‘n’ in number. Today’s classrooms have a laptop, LED screen, projectors, tablets, internet connection, intranet facility, seminars and digital cameras to name a few. These technology tools help both teachers and students to create the best possible learning environment inside a classroom.

Interactive boards have been good additions inside classrooms, but perhaps a much more advanced technological intervention is now required inside classrooms across the world. As an interactive board is still a ‘One to Many’ teaching model. What is actually required, to cater to the needs of individual students is a ‘One to One’ teaching learning model. Tablet based education, which is fast finding presence inside classrooms is the perfect answer.

Tablets have become a must have in schools. Students use these tablets to study in and out of the classroom, to write notes, internet searches, audio and video recording of the classroom sessions, make projects, create presentations, bookmarks notes, share notes via school and class forums, use them as textbooks to access reference material form the internet and also the school library. Tablets have opened a whole new world for students in-terms of learning and the best part is that the same is even accessible outside the classroom space. The Curriculum Company (TCC) has come up with a unique T-Learning TM platform that makes teaching, learning, assessing and interacting much easier via their tablet offering. Mr. Ujjwal Singh, Founder – CEO TCC says, “T-Learning provides ample scope for innovation and creativity within the prescribed time limits of a class and also ensures that basic hygiene factors of classroom management with timely syllabus completion. With built in e-books, apps, games, virtual labs and much more, it makes learning desirable for young learners.”

With tools like video conferences and seminars, students can engage with teachers all over the world and get the best of knowledge from the best in the world. Teachers via their smart phones can create PPT’s and bookmark reference material and then with the help of the internet share with the whole class, with just a click. Internet and classroom technology has bridged the communication gap between teachers and students. It’s filled with all the information and makes teacher to teacher, teacher to students and student to student interactions much easier and personal.

Classroom technology creates opportunities for what one calls individualized learning platforms. TCC is one such example of an ILP, and promises the potential to deliver a superior teaching-learning experience for teacher and taught all year round.
