Rocaltrol :

Rocaltrol (Calcitriol) is mainly used to treat calcium deficiency by decreased functioning of the parathyroid glands. Rocaltrol is a synthetic version of Vitamin D3. Before giving you rocaltrol tablet your doctor can check your calcium and phosphate blood levels and adjust your dosage accordingly. It can be available in both form tablet as well as solution form. Some of the medicines are unfavorably interact with Rocaltrol they are as follows digoxin, cholestyramine, sevelamer, ketoconazole, lanthanum, seizure medication, steroids, and diuretics. Basically the dosage of rocaltrol is depending upon deficiency of vitamin D which is different from person to person. This therapy or cycles of dosage always start from lowest possible dose. The effectiveness of rocaltrol is fully depending upon the person who takes it regularly in prescribed amount. The doctor can prescribe it either as capsule or syrup.
Capsules : There are two verities of capsules are available with 0.25 mcg and 0.5 mcg
Syrup : It is a clear colorless to pale yellow syrup containing 1 mcg/mL of calcitriol.

OVERDOSAGE :

Overdose of rocaltrol is very harmful. If the overdose is suspended then it become poison for that call your doctor immediately.

MISSED DOSE :

In your busy schedule if forgot to take a dose on time then don’t panic take it as soon as you remember it or if it is time to take next dose then skip previous dose and continue with your normal time table. Remember that do not combine both dosage and take them together that will harmful to you.
