Nature’s Statin – Vitamin C and Lysine!

Did you know there were “other” theories of heart disease besides (lipid) cholesterol theory? If you were to ask anyone in our society, what is the main cause of heart disease? Invariably cholesterol would be one of the main answers you would hear. This shows what $ 60,000,000 a year can do from just one company’s budget to promote one statin drug on television.

According to the University of Maryland, good sources of lysine are foods rich in protein including meat (specifically red meat, pork, and poultry), cheese (particularly parmesan), certain fish (such as cod and sardines), nuts, eggs, soybeans (particularly tofu, isolated soy protein, and defatted soybean flour), spirulina, and fenugreek seed.

Do what Popeye suggested, eat your spinach. Popeye and Olive oil? Hmmm. Is there a hidden meaning there? Olive oil contains Omega-9s, another Omega that is essential but must be ingested. Olive oil and vinegar on your salad will go a long way in keeping the pump pumping.

Take plenty of Omega-3s and Vitamin C every day. Shake that bottle of water before drinking it. The water molecules will thank you. Get up off the couch, park far away from the mall, walk a lot, jog a little. Breathe. Enjoy the season. In winter, its important to get at least 15 minutes of sunlight a day.

Choose Health! Vitamin C is one of the cheapest substances on earth, while heart disease is a major mega-pharma-medical business.
