Myths about MBA Finance and Short term Courses

Management degree is a degree which millions of students aspire. And every year looking at the demand of the market for these candidates, both at the national and international level, a continuous growth is seen and would continue to be observed by people and different industries across the globe. Though MBA is a main career choice for many of the candidates, but the finance stream especially MBA in finance and many short term finance courses are gaining momentum. Many of the finance courses have also paved a path for new career avenues. It is observed that possessing a management degree is dreams come true for many candidates, but this master’s degree has many myths linked with it. Through this article, we aim to uncover some of these myths as are heard by many people.

It is assumed that a management is an easy career option, though it is seen that cracking it and that to MBA in Finance from a good institute with good marks is not every man’s cup of tea. A management degree in itself requires a lot of effort, hard work, sincerity and dedication. Another myth is that doing a distance course is as good as doing a regular management course. Surely the answer is no. Doing correspondence course cannot have the same value in the market that a regular course would have. The knowledge gained from a regular degree is far more than what a candidate would have from distance course. A myth that people, who have their own business or are complete businessmen, need not do management course is not correct. The course itself develops lot many business skills that will be highly required even by the businessmen.

The degree can fetch you a high salary in the market is another myth prevalent amongst the people in the market. This is also not necessary as the salary is dependent not only on the institute from where you have done your course, but is also dependent on your skills and ability. Management is an expensive degree and the cost associated is surely high when done from a reputed and renowned institute. Even the short term courses have a high costing. Management courses do not guarantee that you would have a great progressive career. Your progress depends on your hard work with sincerity and dedication, as the degree can only ascertain that you have knowledge and certain competencies. The ranking of the college from where you do your management is important, as high ranked institute’s students are paid more and are in greater demand.

All institutes cannot be good. It’s mostly said that all of them are good but it is not so, as the level and standard of education of these institutes cannot be the same. All that is needed to succeed in the business is covered in the management program is surely a myth as, if a student lacks in some basic skills of presentation or communication a management program cannot develop that. Experience does form an essential prerequisite for a management program. So people who have some exposure and experience surely excel in management courses.
