Our world is in danger because of the pollution that we release in our surrounding. There could be many reasons why we are suffering from climate change but one of this is the gasoline used by cars. It causes for our planet to become hotter that resulted for global warming. Air pollution can be reduced if we can learn to limit the use of diesel as well as gasoline in cars.

With global warming affecting our life the experts are continually researching for methods that can be used in creating an alternative car fuel. Nowadays, there are already alternative products that can be used instead of gasoline. Most of these methods are from fruits as well as vegetables but the use of electricity is also becoming popular. One of the fruits that are now making a huge impact as a car fuel is watermelon.

Even though it hasn’t received any certification, researchers are not losing hope that it could help us reduce air pollution. The United States Department of Agriculture, Oklahoma, is the one responsible in discovering the use of watermelon juice. Researchers of the local organization concluded that it is possible to use watermelon juice for car fuel because of the ethanol that it produces.

Each year there are more than hundred thousand tons of watermelons wasted in most of the farm wherein some are being thrown while there are those that use it to feed other animals. With these the researchers of the U.S. Department of Agriculture thought of some alternative methods that will consume the left over watermelons. The possibility of creating an ethanol from the watermelon juice was because of the 10% sugar that it contains.

If this study comes to reality it will be great not only in United States but also in different part of the world. That’s why the researchers continue to study this option, so that in the future when it is ready it could be used. Based from the studies there are probably over 2.5 million gal of ethanol that can be produced from all the wasted watermelon in United States alone.

Just imagine the amount of ethanol that watermelon could produce in one year it will already save a lot of lives. This could also provide great help to billion of car owners as well as other type of vehicles. Aside from this the air pollution will also be lessened that will help in saving our planet.
