Perhaps you have perceived how swiftly we as a human species become used to a product, and then right away begin to search for something more enhanced. Quicker, faster, lighter – we are a generation almost preoccupied with making life more comfortable, and how we love to integrate technology to achieve this. Well, applying technology is the sensible solution to make life simpler and easier, due to the fact that every little thing we use in life at present, has been designed by utilizing technology.

And so it is with computers and personal computers on the whole. First, we had the bulky, standalone, desktops, which was made up of almost huge metal casings, large cpu cooling fans and what could be considered in today’s terms as inferior computer technology. My first laptop now has much less processing capability than some of the many, more sophisticated smart phones – many of which are about one fourth of the size of the very first laptops. Then naturally we saw the surfacing of ‘Netbooks’ – a small sized variant of the laptop. For reasons unknown however, Netbooks hardly ever truly achieved as much clout in the marketplace as one would have estimated. PC Tablets appear to have engulfed the market it would appear, while laptops still maintain to be a trendy piece of equipment among users that need this kind of technology. Somehing else that also seems to be here to stay is GPS technology.

When laptops first hit the industry, the immediate image you would have created is that of extreme portability. You can take it anywhere. Same with the more contemporary Tablets, the only thing that is different being that Tablets are more lightweight, thinner and somewhat smaller than laptops, which translates into an even lighter and more convenient option for those people that are more moving around than they are static.

So, in the end, I think it comes down to whatever floats your boat. Do you have a preference for a laptop, or is the emergence of PC Tablets more your scene? We are certainly spoiled for choice when it comes to these two possibilities.
